So far, I have mixed feelings about the course, some of the concepts I am having trouble understanding. Especially in Unit two. I like the idea of blogging to express how we feel and the idea of actually having a blog is very cool too. The course material, I find myself re reading and re watching the videos many times. Overall, I am learning things I had no knowledge about. I think as time progresses, I will be able to pick up the way the course and content is designed. I think since this material is self-taught and I have never had a 100% online class I’m still adjusting to this new way of learning. Some disadvantages of this course are that we cannot easily meet with the professor like you could if this class had meeting times.
For example, when I get on to do a unit, I usually split it up. First, I go through the PowerPoint and teach, read, and analyze the content myself. Next, I usually watch two videos and then the next day watch the next two videos, this was it is not all this information overloading my brain. I tend to stop or replay clips of the videos if I don’t fully grasp the idea but then sometimes, I still have difficult gaining what is trying to be taught.
Blogging is something that I have always wanted to get into in the future but at this point in my life, I don’t think I’d have adequate stories or knowledge for a good blog. So, having this blog for class use is a good foot-in-the-door experience to have. I’m excited to see what else I learn in the course and hopefully gain better skills to get better quiz grades. It is still early in the course, so I am not discouraged.
