Now that this semester is coming to end, it’s time for some final thoughts. To get started, my initial expectations of the course were high. I’ve heard many good things about this course, so I was eager to begin. I enjoy learning about interesting or useful knowledge, so I thought this was going to be a good choice.
To begin I enjoyed the way the class was set up. There was a set schedule every week. Assignments due every Friday was easy to remember and keep up with. The constant communication was very helpful too. I often find myself confused on some things, but this course was very straight forward. On to the content of this course. Every Unit was well organized to be understood. As well as very interesting to learn. My favorite Unit to learn about was about Sports which was surprising since I am not a huge sports fan. I did not seem to fully understand the Unit about Advertising.
For this class to be improved, I could recommend maybe using the Blog Post more. I enjoyed writing those, although it was online it felt more free to accurately express how I was feeling. I also like the idea of owning a blog. I really liked this idea. The twitter account activity seemed a little pointless to me, given we only used the account once or twice. Not that it was troublesome creating an account but almost seemed wasteful to me. Another area of improvement could be to use the twitter accounts more instead of the discussion posts. They’re essentially the same, except the twitter tweets would only be 280 characters but we could also use hashtags and respond to other classmates this way.
To wrap things up, my expectations were met for this class for sure. It not only filled in some missing goals of mine, it entertained me and gave me much useful knowledge. Thanks again!
